It's 5 Oclock Somewhere

We had a nice little getaway to Vegas. I had a really great time with my really great husband!!!This is our first night out, I bet you want an onion ring now!

So, the middle bartender here got a little feisty. We were at Wild Bill's Casino and I ordered a shot with my Corona. Well, we paid and he walked away and I thought to myself, "I'm pretty sure I want some diet coke with that!" So Chadd called back the bartender and we asked for a small glass of diet coke. He went and got it and when he came back he said with much force, "Next time, you chase shot with beer. No more coke!" And he laughed and gave Chadd knuckles. What?!?! I just got in trouble!!! I guess I'm not hard core enough to handle Vegas :)

Beautiful strip. We stayed at Treasure Island. It was a great experience. We did the whole $20 trick and we were upgraded to a panoramic room with both a view of the strip and a view of the pirate show on the 28th floor!

Only in Vegas baby....cup holders in the bathroom!

This is downtown on Freemont Street. There was a live band playing 80s songs. What a blast!

Chadd's pick: Hogs and Heifers Saloon

This one's for Christopher. I got to hang out with Elmo...what a dream!

OK...so out on Freemont Street you get a lot of stragglers trying to make a buck. We saw PeeWee Herman, Brett Michaels, Spider Man, Captain Hook, Elmo...then you got this guy....he playing a guitar and blowing a whistle...wth?????? Needless to say he gave me a good laugh so I gave him $2.

So the funny thing about this is we decided to go to the wax museum. We got there, decided we needed to go to the restrooms, have a snack and sit for awhile before going in. So we bypassed the museum, went into the next hotel. Went to the bathroom, had a snack, sat for awhile...then headed back to go to the WAX museum....emphasis on the word wax, please. So as were getting near the museum, riding on a moving walkway, Chadd looks over yonder and sees Micheal Jordan. "Is that Micheal Jordan, that's kinda cool?!" I guess he forgot where we were! Need I say they had a few statues outside and need I say, Chadd momentarily forgot where we were headed and he thought it was the real Micheal Jordan. I have to give him this much...there were people around "Micheal Jordan" taking their picture with him so I can see how he got all got up in the moment!!! I love you, Chadd, but it was really funny!

One more story...I now know what it's like to get the last burrito at Chipotle. Does anyone reading this like Chipotle??? It's one of the best foods in the world. And I have (not so proudly) been able to pound down the WHOLE burrito many, many times! So we got our taxi cab ride back from downtown Freemont Street on Saturday night. We knew we wanted a burrito from Chipotle so we headed there, our last stop before we go to bed. If I had to guess it was 1:30am. We get in line and the Chipotle worker comes to the back of the line and says they are closed, no more. We just couldn't comprehend that. There was Giant Panda next row over, so I said to Chadd, "Do you want to get Giant Panda Express, I'm ok with that." Chadd says, "No let's just stay in line and pretend we didn't hear him." So we just stood real close to the people in front of us. "He won't know." Well, eventually, he came back and said, "No more, Chipotle is closed." Now if I am remember correctly, I think this is the point where we started begging?! Really, really begging. So the guy told us that we can stay and get the last burrito if we agreed to cut the line off so if anyone gets in line we have to tell them Chipotle is closed. We agreed, but we didn't actually do our part. Remember 1:30am in Vegas = every single person is drunk! The group in front of us were so happy we got that job 'cause that's what they were supposed to be doing, but didn't want to do it! We get to the head of the line and get our burritos and the worker has to tell the people behind us that the can't get any. They weren't very happy. The guy behind us even tried the tactic that he let some people ahead of him because he didn't know. I shook the workers hand and we bonded as I was leaving and thanked him profusely for letting us "in." If I had one suggestion...if you own a Chipotle on the Vegas Strip - DON'T RUN OUT OF RICE AT 1:30AM!!! The party is still going strong at that time!

Hop Scotch

Ashly made what possibly could be the largest hop scotch board in all of history on the road in front of our house. She got a few neighbors to try it out (even adults!) and it was funny to watch some kids go past it later that evening when we were eating supper. They would all stop, look at it, then try it out!

Well, she didn't quite make it!

Gotta love sidewalk chalk!

Welcome Ryland

Congratulations to my sister, Bobbi and her boyfriend, Ross on their new baby boy!!! Ryland was born today at 11:03 weighing 7 lbs. 4 oz. and 19.5 inches long. I hope everyone is doing well. Wish I was there! I can't wait to meet the little guy! I know he'll be little for awhile!

Proud big sister Brittany (heehee... Brit, I stole your picture off facebook!). I don't have a picture of Jordyn, but I'm sure she's a proud big sister too!

Semi Trucks

I peel the apple and Christopher likes to eat it whole. When I put that shirt on him yesterday morning, I said, "Look at the monster....roarrrrr." And he said, "Yellow." He doesn't always get his colors correct, but we are working on it!

This morning Ashly and I went to the Baby Bonanza they had in the clinic/hospital I work. It's basically one huge baby garage sale. We got Cman these semi trucks. He is really into trucks, matchbox cars and anything else like that.

Venison Concoction

Chadd made some jalapeno-bacon-venison-somethings. They were pretty good!

Big boy drinking out of a cup.

Yum!

Ashly had a mouth full! She liked them too.

Toys

"Look at all my friends!!!"

Ashly kept adding more and more stuffed animals until Christopher was buried!

Here's my Mother's Day gift from the daycare from Christopher. A magnet with his picture and a pen with a flower made out of his hand. So precious!

Christopher loves all his trucks and matchbox cars.

I lined them up! Don't get the wrong idea and think he's an obsessive kid that lines up all his toys!!! But it's fun to line them up and have him count them.
