Chadd the Electrician

Chadd put one of the finishing touches on our basement - the lights above the kichenette counter! They look nice. Good work, Chadd!

He also upgraded our lights above the mirror in the upstairs bathroom. I picked them out. I'm not always good at knowing what to pick out that will go with everything else, but once the lights were up I really liked them!

Wild Date Night

A couple weekends ago, Chadd and I decided to go on a date night on a Saturday night. Of course, our wonderful Ashly babysat Christopher and she took some pictures while we were gone. Guess it got a little wild at home when we weren't there...

Doctor/Nurse

Shot anyone???? Christopher got this doctor kit from my parents for Christmas. He is interested in trying each item, but I don't think he quite understands what it all is. I guess we can count our blessings that he hasn't been sick enough or at the doctor's enough to remember that stuff!!!
Check the ears!

He knew to put the end of the stethoscope on his heart! I was impressed!

He wasn't sure what the blood pressure cuff was all about, but it was fun to pump up!

Fever, Meat and Manny

Yesterday was a rough day for the little guy. He wasn't feeling so well. I know he got it from daycare on Monday and Tuesday. We had a lot of rock-a-bying yesterday. Today he is feeling better!
Chadd was pretty excited to get his TexMex sticks in the mail yesterday made from his deer. He was happy with how they tasted too!

Christopher all of a sudden started asking for "money, money" and we couldn't figure out what he was talking about. Finally, we realized he was asking for his Handy Manny flashlight and he calls it "manny." So now we know...when he says "money" it's really "manny" and he really wants Flicker the Flashlight. He loves that flashlight! Thanks to Jennie and Blake for getting it for him for Christmas. He needs more Handy Manny tools now!

Here he is being all excited because he sees "manny" on the TV.

TV From a Box

See the little green pillow in the box? My dad got an orange pillow like that for Christmas and after opening all his toys that night, he wanted to sleep with grandpa's orange pillow. We thought we might be taking it home, but he forgot about it the morning we left. I decided to buy him one just like it, but it hasn't been a favorite yet. He might eventually use it, he tends to go in phases of what toys he can't live without!

Watching TV in a box. A very normal toddler thing to do!

Piece of History

Last year, my dad went through the last of his items from the farm. Chadd went on one trip out to the farm to see if there was anything of interest to him. To me, he came home with this ugly hunk of metal, but to him, this was a cool piece of Symons' history - an anvil from my great grandfather who was a blacksmith (do we have that right, Dad?). Chadd was excited to put it to use and he was also excited to be able to pass this legacy on to Christopher some day (I still think it's just a hunk of metal! ha!) Actually, I think it's pretty cool.

More Dressing Up Fun

I had a quick weekend since I worked all weekend. Chadd calls it "kid duty" when he has to watch Christopher while I'm at work!!! Ashly had an overnight puppet adventure. She traveled with the church group to Winona and Lake City and put on four puppet shoes between Saturday and Sunday. They stayed overnight at a church and played games and watched movies. She said it was a good time! She says her arms get real tired holding up the huge puppets. They dress all in black, even with a black nylon thing over their head so they are not seen as they make the puppets move. She seems to really enjoy it. I haven't seen a puppet show this year yet, but I've seen a sneak peek at practice. Ashly is a girl puppet with a saxophone. Wish I had pictures for you, hopefully if I see a show!

Christopher enjoyed "watching" football on the TV this weekend!

Woods Projects

Ashly has really enjoyed her woods class this year at school. Now that the first semester of school has come to an end, she won't have this class anymore, but she has three great pieces she made in her room. This is the night stand/end table she made. She keeps it by her bed.

This is the hooks she made. It won out over the IKEA hook that was in her room previously!

And for the finale...here's her shelf. It looks nice.

This little motorcycle and motorcycle dude is a toy that I bought Christopher for Christmas. He calls it "dada" because whenever he sees a motorcycle or a 4 wheeler he says "dada" So now whenever Christopher is asking for dada, we know not to go get Chadd, but to look for the little motorcycle. He likes to sleep with it too, along with a wide array of stuffed animals!

Oops, I forgot to flip this picture, but thought it was ironic that he wanted to play with ice (these are the frozen teething toys and ice packs from the freezer!) on one of the coldest days of the year!
