Dresden Museum

When I visited my parents last week, we went to the Dresden Museum where my dad has his Coast Guard uniform on display. Since this museum isn't something you have to pay to go to, I thought it wouldn't be breaking any laws to show you some of what we saw that day.

This is one of my favorites! This is how you used to get a perm. Wow!

It looks more like a torture chamber than a beauty shop.

Eek!

Dentist...EEK!

This is a steam bath. I don't know exactly what that means, but it's weird.

Here's dad's Coast Guard Uniform.

Baby walker. Not quite as cute and colorful as they are these days!

This is "Grandpa's Truck!" We stopped for a picture after the museum, but Christopher was way past nap time and unfortunately he didn't enjoy it like I know he would normally. Next time we are in Langdon we will have to show him the truck again. We talk about it all the time since Grandpa gave him a toy truck like this for Christmas last year!

Camp Grandma and Grandpa

Ashly, Brittany and Jordyn spent a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa this summer in Langdon, North Dakota. They went on convertible rides.

They went to Main Street Bistro in Cavalier.

They went camping at Mt. Carmel Dam. Here is Ashly and Jordyn playing card games in the camper.

They made homemade ice cream and chip dips. Here is Brittany and Ashly making the dip.

They went to the 3rd Annual Smash for Cash. They got soaked in mud! Smash for Cash is where they get old cars and smash them into other cars until they don't run anymore. It was a fundraiser event.

Great cousins and great friends: Jordyn, Ashly and Brittany.

Thanks to my parents for hosting the girls!!!!!

Mountain Deuce of August

Christopher and I headed to Langdon to my mom and dad's house to pick up Ashly and spend some time with them. We have had some really fun times here. Saturday morning we went to the parade in Mountain. The town has an icelandic heritage. We saw a parade, they had a jumpy thing for Christopher to play in, we ate fair food and icelandic food, we watched icelandic dancers and a tractor pull. The celebration is called the Deuce of August and happens on the weekend closest to August 2nd. They always have a street dance at night and forty-some years ago that is where my mom and dad met!

This was Christopher's first parade that I have been to him with. He was waving to everyone and with Ashly's help, loved picking up all the candy that was thrown to him!

Picking up tootsie rolls! Beside tootsie rolls and suckers, there were also freezie pops and stuffed animals thrown at the kids. Christopher got a pink teddy bear!

Corn on the Cob

No need to cut the corn off the cob anymore. He's growing up! Christopher had so much fun eating the corn directly off the cob for the first time that he ate 2 of them!!!

Playing with Dad

Nothing like whipping up a few dozen circles made out of play doh before you even get out of your work clothes. Looks like fun!

Look at all those circles!
