Christopher and I had a playdate with one of my friends that I used to work with and is in my book club. She has two kids: Logan and Lexi. Christopher fit right in and started playing the minute we walked in the door. The kids all had a great time and even gave Christopher hugs and kisses (and me too!) when we left. They had so many toys, Christopher was in heaven!Friday, August 13, 2010

Loud noises
Storytime with dad.
Christopher spends alot of time playing with legos. He is getting good at pulling apart and putting together skills.

We were driving on the interstate today and we passed a big semi truck with a big load and I looked back and Christopher was plugging both his ears and yabbering something. It was so funny, I realized he thought the truck was going to be loud. The road by his daycare is currently being torn apart and in the morning the kids go out and watch the bulldozers and trucks for awhile and I bet they got that from the daycare teacher "cover your ears, it's loud!!!" It was so cute I laughed out loud by myself! It's the little things in life that make it so worth while!I forgot to bring my camera, but last night we went on a dinner boat cruise on Lake Minnetonka for Chadd's Dad's 71st birthday. We had a great time! I was thankful that Auntie Cindy had a bag ful of toys that kept Christopher occupied!

WEB Leader

Ashly has been busy this week with WEB training. She was selected at her Junior High School to help with the 7th grade orientation. Monday and Tuesday, she spent the mornings at the school learning how to be a role model and a leader for the new 7th graders. She is going to be a 9th grader and 9th grade is still in the Junior High building. Today her assignment was to call 10 7th graders and make sure they are coming to orientation on Thursday and let them know she is available for questions and to help with the transition. On Thursday at orientation she will spend time one on one with the 10 7th graders and get to know them. Once the school year starts, they have a couple more activities with them too.

Saturday Eve Fun
I got out these orange cones that Ashly used to use to practice soccer with. They were a hit with Christopher. You can line them up, stack them, and throw them over the deck!Sunday, August 1, 2010
Minnesota Zoo
We went to the Minnesota Zoo today. I haven't been there for about 3 or 4 years. Chadd said it's been more like 20 years since he's been there!

As you can imagine, Christopher is at a perfect age to explore and react to the animals. We had so much fun watching his reactions. And Ashly enjoyed playing with him.
My favorite monkey boys!!!

Lookin at the buffalo.
Looking at the Prairie Dogs.
Christopher did a lot of pointing.
Ashly took this picture. I guess she thought the camels were cool looking!
Yep, that's the only picture of me since I was the photographer.
Playing at the playground.
The zoo has a separate farm area. Here we are riding on a trailer pulled by a tractor which takes us to the farm.
Here is Chadd with his favorite animal, the goat!
Christopher absolutely loved feeding the goats. He was not shy, he would give them a piece of their food one by one and laugh. Watching him feed the goats was my favorite moment of the day! We talked about needing to go to a few more local petting zoos since he has no fear when it comes to feeding the animals.

Ashly was a great helper the whole day. Since she did most the animal watching with him, I was able to get all these great pictures!

He liked turning the steering wheel on the tractor.
Gotta love that smile!
This is a really fat pig! (I know, give her some time to lose her "baby weight"!!!) P.S. Just a statue :)

After about 4 hours at the zoo, lots of action, lots of animals, lots of walking, eating lunch and the heat...we lost Christopher. The rest of us were tired too, so we decided it was time to head home. What a great day!!! We will definately have to make this an annual trip. We didn't see the giraffes or the zebras - my two favorite animals. Next time!
