Ashly is on her way

Ashly took off this morning for her mission trip. They are seeing Mt. Rushmore and going to a hot springs water park called Evan's Plunge on the way out there. They are staying at churches while they travel. They will arrive at Wind River, Wyoming (it's an Indian Reservation) on Sunday eve. They will be repairing and painting houses and doing a bible school for the children. They will leave Friday morning and have decided to come back a day early, so will get home next Saturday. I hope she is having fun! 11 kids and 3 adults went.

Christopher is sitting up a little here and there. He leans forward quite a bit when he sits up, but he is making progress. Now you have to be careful what you are holding in your hands when you have him because he is grabbing everything in sight. We are working on rolling skills. I try to bribe him to roll with a toy. I've seen him roll from his tummy to his back now a couple times. Pretty soon he will be good at that so he won't get stuck on his tummy anymore. Since he is always rolling on his tummy, that is how he ends up sleeping in the crib now.

Jumper

We got a jumper for the doorway for Christopher. We laughs and laughs when we bounce him in it, but he hasn't got the hang of it himself yet. I don't think it'll be too long before he's jumping up and down. Ashly and Christopher both got their initials hung in their rooms. We thought they were cute. Finally, something on the bright green wall!

Summer Fun

Sprinklers on a hot summer day.

More peas please

Christopher tried veggies for the first time. He's been eating his rice cereal twice a day really well. He even eats good for the daycare ladies (yeah, I know you are surprised that he is a good eater coming from the Larson/Symons families!!!). He made a few faces with the peas, but for the most part he just kept eating them. He didn't spit too much. I can see how things could get real messy real fast!
Ashly is getting ready for her mission trip. We bought everything she needs yesterday and she started packing. She leaves at 815 Friday morning!

Fourth of July

Hope everyone had a happy July 4th. We did the usual Larson family tradition, and that was to walk in the parade in Excelsior. The kids decorate their bikes, scooters or strollers...and dogs! We all walk, then at the end we get a popsicle....and Chadd (or Mike!) gets cheese curds! Then we headed to the lakehouse for the rest of the day. Dave smoked his yummy pork and beans. We went on a boat ride on Lake Minnetonka. Christopher loved sitting out by the water on the deck. It was cool in the shade and the waves crashing on the shore were relaxing to him. He had a great time playing with Nana, Papa, Auntie Cindy and Auntie Val on the deck. Ashly had fun swimming all day and we left her there to watch the fireworks over the lake at 10pm and spend the night with all the kids.

My sleeping prince

Christopher is still so fussy when he gets tired. He fights sleep so bad. He won't keep his nuk in his mouth. He just cries and squirms and whines. I thought it would get better, but it hasn't. I have a feeling I have many years of fighting naps and bedtime in my future. But when he wakes up he's so happy. How can you be mad at that!

Nothing new

Not much new with us. We went to the church last night to finalize all the plans for Ashly's mission trip. They are leaving next Friday, July 10th. There are two new shifts at work, 8-430 and 830-500. So everyday I start at a different time, as early at 530 or as late as 830. I wish I could have one start time. Well, I guess that is what I get for deciding I don't want to be in management.
